HagerSmith Design, PA is a full-service, multi-disciplinary design firm founded in 1978. The firm's staff of 23 includes architects, architectural conservators, landscape architects, interior designers, and construction administrators, and has completed projects in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. The firm's clientele includes developers, corporations, non-profits and governmental bodies.

Historic Preservation is a major focus of our work and includes restoration, rehabilitation and adaptive reuse as well as building diagnostics, historic finishes studies and tax credit applications. Recent projects have included the restoration of the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse and the Camden County Courthouse, exterior restoration and interior adaptive reuse of train depots in Morganton and Marion, NC, restoration of the Kenan House, the UNC-Wilmington Chancellor's residence, and the adaptive reuse of the Walnut Hill Cotton Gin as a residence.
