Home Energy Audits Explained
Image

Do you wonder about how to make your older home more energy efficient? A home energy audit is a great place to start — assessing your home's current conditions and prioritizing repairs and improvements.

So what is a home energy audit? Watch this video and find out.

In the spring of 2010, Preservation NC and the Raleigh Historic Districts Commission, with support from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, ran an online contest to find the historic house in Raleigh most in need to energy efficiency improvements.

The winning homeowners were given a free home energy audit, which was filmed to make the informational video From Energy Hog, To Energy Star: Home Energy Audits Explained.

This video was debuted at a Community Conversations event on June 10, 2010 that also featured architect Steve Schuster on renovating for energy efficiency and CPA Scott Shackleton on the financial incentives.

You can watch the full Community Conversation online via the Raleigh Television Network.
