"The State Historic Preservation Office is seeking additional history of properties in Carteret County for its state archives. Approximately 280 historic properties in rural areas and unincorporated communities and 335 properties in the municipalities in Carteret County will be surveyed, most of them for the first time, according to the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources news release."
