The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Landmarks Commission has proposed buying for a nominal fee two of the city's failed housing projects - the Mecklenburg Mill and Johnston Mill in NoDa.  The commission would then attempt to sell the buildings, while working with a developer to preserve the old mills' historical value.
