City seeks to take over historic train station |

"The city of Winston-Salem has filed for eminent domain over the Davis Garage, a historic train station turned auto-repair shop on the eastern edge of the city's downtown.
Under the terms laid out in the city's filing, Winston-Salem would pay garage owner Harvey Davis $681,900 for the building. The city also would pay to move Davis' auto-repair shop.The city's filing starts the process of condemnation — the legal method by which the city would take ownership of the building."
