On the Hill: Preservation Funding Bill Clears Major Hurdle – Prospects Cautiously Positive |

According to Interior Subcommittee Chairman Jim Moran (D-VA), preservation programs were “level-funded” from last year. Save Americas Treasures, Preserve America, and National Heritage Areas were “restored.” Any way you look at it, holding our own on fundamental Historic Preservation Fund programs and getting monies “restored” to programs eliminated or cut in the President’s budget blueprint is no small feat. Once we get the exact amounts the House subcommittee approved, we’ll know the degree of this achievement.
