Land donated for Kinston battlefield

"Thanks to the generosity of the Harper family of Lenoir County, slightly more than three acres of land are now part of the Kinston Battlefield Park.

Jane Phillips, president of the Historical Preservation Group, announced Tuesday that 3.31 acres of land, which include “pristine earthworks,” will be included in the planned park to commemorate the First Battle of Kinston."
