| Mebane to apply for historic designations |

Plans are moving forward on getting two sections of downtown Mebane on the National Register of Historic Places. The Alamance County commissioners recently agreed to a request from Mebane officials to take part in a grant application to prepare a study and registry nomination for the Old South Mebane Historic District and the Mebane Commercial Historic District.
