"Rudi Haug, owner of Goldsmith by Rudi, has championed downtown Hendersonville for years and now he is being rewarded for it.  Haug was named a 2009 Main Street Champion recently at the North Carolina Main Street Annual Awards dinner in New Bern.  Each of the state's active Main Street programs is given the opportunity annually to recognize a local Main Street Champion. The North Carolina Main Street Program is a downtown revitalization program for smaller towns based on economic development within the context of historic preservation."
