"Once a bustling commercial district, the buildings maintain much of their historical integrity, but some were in jeopardy of being torn down . . . Now all the old buildings will be preserved thanks to a federal grant secured by the commission and the town to list the commercial district, as well as the Dover mill village, on the National Register of Historic Places. The nomination has been approved and will be listed in Spring 2011."
