| Preservation of Wilson sells Williams-Woodard-Banks House |
|
Anne Pression from Anchorage, Alaska has purchased Wilson's 1898 Queen Anne-style Williams-Woodard-Banks House, 501 Broad Street in the Broad-Kenan Historic District. It has been sold through Preservation of Wilson. The house designed by nationally known architect George Barber is a local register historic landmark that had been the office of Barnes & Flippin Interiors Inc. for 39 years. Robert Flippin has downsized his business and moved to a smaller Wilson location. Anne plans to fully restore the house back to a single family dwelling. “We are so pleased that we were able to locate a buyer for this magnificent historic property. Having found someone like Anne, passionate about bringing it back to life as a family home, makes the work of Preservation of Wilson very rewarding” says Ed Etheridge, Vice President of Preservation of Wilson. Anne transferred with Barnes & Noble to the Greenville location and has a 17 year old daughter, Alexa, who is currently a junior and will be attending Fike High School. "We used to spend our summers in North Carolina and I have always wanted to live here. I am at a point in my life where I am looking to buy a house, really make it a home and settle in for a long while” says Anne. “My father worked for the National Park Service and the US Army Corps of Engineers so I have lived in a few different states. How many people can say they have lived in both Key West, Florida and Anchorage, Alaska?" Preservation of Wilson (1/11/2011) Preservation of Wilson is a nonprofit corporation that provides leadership in the revitalization efforts of Wilson County's unique architectural properties.
