Shack believed to be old slave cabin found in Northeast Wake County |

It’s not uncommon to find old barns and other remnants of Wake County’s
past sitting on land slated for development. But an old shack city
officials found on the site of a future park may be the rarest of
finds: an old slave cabin. Before the city can say for sure that the structure is a slave cabin,
it must undergo an architectural and historical survey. But there is
evidence that it was indeed a slave cabin.
