Statesville set to vote on downtown makeover |

"At its regular meeting Monday night, the Statesville City Council will vote on a plan that, when fully implemented, will dramatically change the look of the most defining part of the city: its downtown and southern gateway.
The Statesville Downtown & NC 115 Streetscape/Land Use Master Plan has been the talk of the town for the past several weeks.
The ambitious plan calls for a restructuring of downtown streets — including the installation of new water and sewer lines beneath them and the burying of electrical cables — and the creation of districts along Broad and Center street and Shelton Avenue.'"
