"Hope Valley's core area, including the golf course designed by Donald Ross, has made the National Register of Historic Places.
The listing caps several years' effort on the parts of Hope Valley residents and Preservation Durham to gain recognition for the 1930s neighborhood in southern Durham.
The Hope Valley Historic District includes Avon Road, Chelsea Circle, Cornwall Road, Devon Road, Exeter Way, Littlewoods Lane, Norwich Way and Stratford Road, according to the National Park Service, which administers the historic registry."
