Located in rural Northampton County but convenient to I-95 and thus to major urban centers.
Built in the 19th century, the large frame house features pairs of tall brick chimneys, a spacious center hall plan, and high hip roof. During ownership of the prominent Joyner family, which included political figure "Sonny Boy" Joyner, the house was enriched by the addition of a two-story portico and flanking porches which were later removed.
The current restrained classical porch dates from the mid 20th century, as does the large screened back porch with view of surrounding farmland. House is habitable but requires updating of kitchen and bathrooms.
