African Americans and Education:The Rosenwald School Legacy Conference: March 22 African Americans and Education: The Rosenwald School Legacy and Williston High School Co-Sponsored by the UNCW History Department, Watson College of Education, and Upperman African American Cultural Center This conference is designed to inspire dialogue about the history of education for African Americans. With the resources shared and connections made at the conference, conference organizers hope to motivate educators and community leaders to make substantive change in current educational practices for African American students This conference is a follow-up to two prior conferences held at UNCW in 2009 and 2011, both of which brought together historians, educators, librarians, and community members to discuss the Rosenwald school legacy in the southeastern United States.
