Afternoon Tea and Tour at the Higgs House in Greenville

Sunday November 16
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Pitt County Historical Society is delighted to host their annual Thanksgiving Tea on November 16th 2025 from 2-4 pm. Parking is available on the streets adjacent to The Higgs House. The JW Higgs House was built in 1903 and remained the home of Jacob and Sadie Higgs until 1975. The house was reopened as The Gathering Place and operated as a restaurant until the mid-1980s and then as the Faith House until the early 2000s. It fell into disrepair and was in danger of being torn down. With the support of PreservationNC, the house is currently being restored by new owners Erin Scully and Kathryn Ross. At the Thanksgiving Tea, guests will have an opportunity to see the plans and hear from the owners about their work to preserve and restore the Higgs House
