Latta Heritage Day

Raleigh Historic Resources and Museums  (HRM) Program is partnering with community organizations on two upcoming events focused on the heritage of Oberlin Village and Latta University which will take place at the Latta House and University Site, 1001 Parker St, Raleigh, NC 27607

At 11am, Alicia McGill from Friends of Oberlin Village (FOV) will speak with Tania Tulley from RHDC about FOV, Oberlin History, and the Designation of Oberlin Village as a Historic Overlay District. At 1 pm Earl Ijames, Curator of African American History at the NC Museum of History will speak about the History of Rev. Morgan Latta and Latta University. There will also be a pea planting activity, lawn games, information booths, and slushies available for purchase at the event.
