Built in 1927 for Dr. Frank Garriss and purchased in 1947 by Burges and Mary Griffin, this bungalow has had only minor alterations.
The 1 1/2 story brick house is rich in details—wood shingles, knee brackets, battered brick posts, porte-cochere, and original windows. Interior features original plaster, wood paneled door and beveled French doors, floors and mantels. House is habitable with only minimal cosmetic work on interior and exterior. Also included in sale are the 1920s garage/party house and one-story frame house (ca. 1850).
Located in Historic Woodville Rural Historic District, the Garriss-Griffin House is 2 hours from Raleigh, the N.C. Outer Banks of NC, Norfolk (Tidewater), Virginia, and 35 minutes from Tarboro and Greenville.
