Sponsor the 2016 Annual Conference

Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the Preservation NC annual conference! The conference is an opportunity for a diverse group of North Carolinians to come together to learn how historic preservation can be used to enhance quality of life and promote sustainable economic development. Each year PNC travels to a different North Carolina town or city for its conference.

We expect about 400 participants will join us in Greensboro to learn more about historic preservation. This year’s conference theme is Provocative Preservation. Conference sessions will explore how the preservation of buildings can help better tell the full stories of our collective past. Our keynote speakers will be Dr. Spencer Crew, Robinson Professor at George Mason University, and Dr. Allan Parnell, Vice President at the Cedar Grove Institute for Sustainable Communities. Dr. Crew will explore the topic of his latest book which focuses on the WPA recordings of the last living generation of the enslaved in the United States; Dr. Parnell will speak about “Six Disruptive Demographics Trends: What Census 2010 Will Reveal” and how these trends impact historic preservation. We are excited to bring these top-notch speakers to our conference to engage and inspire our participants.

Conference activities will include a variety of educational workshops and activities with something for everyone, from owners of historic properties to commission members to developers, architects, and other professionals in the field. Sessions will be held in a variety of diverse historic places including Temple Emanuel, Pfeiffer Chapel at Bennett College, and the Carolina Theatre. Special events will include a neighborhood block party, an evening at Revolution Mill, our annual Honor Awards luncheon at Blandwood, and more. It’s going to be an exciting conference!

Your sponsorship gift will assist us in providing an exciting and stimulating conference, while keeping it affordable for participants. In return, PNC will publicize your sponsorship in our conference materials and online.   A downloadable listing of sponsorship opportunities, levels and benefits is available by clicking here.
