New Tour: Moving Matsumoto – The Unveiling, Saturday, December 20.

The 1954 Weber Residence spent its first 70 years on Transylvania Avenue in Raleigh NC.  George Matsumoto FAIA designed the house with owner William Weber. Sold in 2023 to new owners who were going to tear it down – but NCModernist mounted a statewide preservation campaign that resulted in Melinda and Andy Knowles moving the house 7 miles in January 2024. Coverage of the move in the News and Observer / CBS17 / WRAL5.
