This year, our President, Myrick Howard celebrates his 40th year at Preservation North Carolina! We’re pleased to announce that the Raleigh Community Appearance Commission is honoring his decades of work with a Sir Walter Raleigh Award!

Join us on September 13 at the newly renovated Union Station to help us congratulate Myrick on this well-deserved achievement.

The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Community Appearance recognize outstanding new contributions to the character, environment and appearance of the City of Raleigh. Since 1983, the Raleigh Appearance Commission has presented more than 200 Sir Walter Raleigh Awards to developers, designers, building owners, community groups, civic clubs, churches, and citizens.

The 2018 Sir Walter Raleigh Awards ceremony will be held Thursday, September 13 at Raleigh Union Station, 510 West Martin Street. Reception and refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Presentation of Awards at 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
