We Built This: Makers and Creators

Join Historic Oak View County Park for We Built This: Makers and Creators. Learn about the life of Thomas Day, a cabinetmaker and furniture craftsman from Milton, North Carolina, and how he became one of the most prolific producers of furniture in the state during the antebellum period. Participants will also create their own soap carving, inspired by the work of Thomas Day.

Free and open to all ages, recommended for ages 7-12.

The program will begin in the Farm History Center (the visitors center building). Please check in with park staff upon your arrival.
