We are absolutely delighted to be in downtown Raleigh for this year’s conference! However, we want to make sure that you are as prepared as you can be to park in the best places available to you. Click here for a link to all of the decks that are in downtown Raleigh.

Thursday, November 7
(All symposium sessions during the day will take place at Boyd Chapel on the Shaw University campus)
Parking at Shaw University: FREE parking is available for symposium attendees in the Shaw Beach Parking Lot. Shaw Beach is a grassy area located on S. Blount Street, between E. South St and MLK Blvd. Look for PNC signs. Parking here is complimentary for symposium attendees. Click HERE to download a parking map.
Parking in downtown Raleigh: Parking decks, surface lots and metered parking are available in downtown Raleigh. Street parking will be limited during the day, parking decks will be less expensive and easier to use. Click here for detailed information about parking in downtown Raleigh.
The closest decks to Shaw University (within walking distance):
- Performing Arts Parking Deck* – 128 W South St
- Convention Center Underground Deck* – 1 W Lenoir St
- City Center Deck* – 429 S Wilmington St
On the evening of Thursday, November 8, to attend the downtown Raleigh tour/reception or the Young Professionals event, we recommend that you park on the street. On-street parking is free after 5pm. Friday, November 8
(Friday morning sessions and the Honor Awards Presentation will take place at the Thomas Boyd Chapel at Shaw University. Guests will walk over to Historic Estey Hall for the Honor Awards Reception.)

Other things to keep in mind:
- On-street parking will be limited in downtown Raleigh during the day (before 5pm).
- You are not allowed to “feed the meter” (IE stay in one spot, but keep your meter paid); you will still get a ticket.
- Parking tickets are $20, so it is less expensive and easier to park in a deck (most charge a max of $12/day). Parking is free for attendees in the Shaw Beach Parking lot.
- Please allow extra time to get to sessions, as parking downtown can take more time to navigate, and there is often traffic getting into and around downtown. Please be respectful of our speakers and session leaders and be on time.
